Hi everyone,
First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone for a great 2024 season. It has come and gone way too quickly.
The crew along side of an outside Company has completed a deep green aeration on our greens. Ideally, we would have loved to wait until we were closed, but were strapped by scheduling. The process went very well and we believe it will only help the greens in the long term. They are still playable even with the slices. By penetrating the ground down to 8 inches and beyond, it will help promote deeper root system and healthier greens.
Over the past month, we tried a new growth regulator on the greens and it seemed to help them a lot even though they were still being cut at the same height. We look forward to maintaining them at this level.
The crew here has worked tirelessly and I want to thank them for the time and dedication they have put in.
Course Closing
The last day of play will be
Wednesday Nov 6th
for both the course and driving range.
There does look to be a few days next week that looks good, but those days will be great for us to put the course to bed in the proper way to give it the best chance of healthier turf in the spring.
Sims will be opening Friday November 7th
Upcoming for 2025
Lakeside is happy to announce that Jack Perry from the pro shop has passed his teaching certificate and plans on joining the C.P.G.A. as an instructor. Jack has been a valued part of the club for years! With that in mind he will be promoted to Assistant Manager and also Teaching Professional for the up coming 2025 season. We are excited for this opportunity for Jack and look forward to working with him in this new position at Lakeside. You will still see him in the shop a bit as well in the spring and fall.
We are purchasing 20 new carts again next year, which means we will be removing at least 30 of the old carts from our fleet.
2025 memberships can be purchased now up to Dec 8th at this year’s rates along with 2 guest green fees. After that date, 2025 rates will apply which will be coming out shortly.
Last Tournament
Sunday Nov 3rd is our last tournament for the year and again is a full event. We will be teeing off at 10 am and please remember that the time goes back tonight. We will be using Golf Genius and the event GGID # is GF3Z5U. You can see draw and scoring from this app and it is also on website. Individual GGID will be on scorecards for LIVE scoring.
